In a traditionally male-dominated industry, respect is easily given to men, while women have to strive to earn it and fight to keep it. That means that being a woman-owned construction company requires us to go above and beyond what is traditionally expected in order to gain and maintain the respect of those in the construction world. However, we don’t get discouraged by these challenges—we use them as a motivation to apply ourselves more and create work that’s of such high quality, no one can discount it.
In the logistical sense, to qualify as a woman-owned business requires a woman to be in control of 51% of the company—but in a realistic sense, being a woman-owned business in the construction industry means we are held to a higher standard in everything that we do. There are certainly more pressures with being a woman-owned business in the construction field. Respect in the construction industry is easily given to men but as a woman you have to strive to get the same respect. Once the respect is given it must be upkept. We are proud to rise up and meet the challenge every day we come to work.
Jeanette’s vision is focused on sustainable growth and building a distinguished company. With more than 30 years of business management for the construction industry. Jeanette oversees the company’s departments and works with department leads to ensure they have the resources needed to excel. Jeanette earned a Juris Doctor degree from Western State University College of Law.
